Awareness

While some habits are easy to spot (smoking, drinking a morning coffee, chewing your fingernails, etc.) others may be so ingrained into daily life that it is hard to recognize them for what they are. You cannot change a bad habit you don’t know you have, and you cannot praise yourself for a good habit you don’t know you’re doing. Having the outside perspective of a health coach to identify patterns in your daily life can be the first step toward creating lasting positive changes.

Motivation

 Why do you want to change certain habits? To be a better you, of course! But let’s dig a little deeper–are your current habits bringing down your health? Finances? Energy levels? Self confidence? Do you want to better yourself for the people around you? Your motives for wanting to improve are just as unique as you are, and they are valid. Altering long-term habits can take time, and it’s common for people to lose sight of the reasons they initially wanted change. A health coach can be there to remind you of why you began your journey in the first place so you stay motivated to reach your goals.

Strategy

Sometimes people want to change, but aren’t sure how to get from Point A to Point B. What works for one person may not work for the next. When changing habits it’s important to be able to not only identify times and places that could interrupt good behavior, but to have a game plan for what to do when this happens. Cheat days are normal and relapse is a real thing. Having another person to help you make a realistic game plan, hold you accountable, and encourage you to get back on track will make the difference between success or another broken resolution. Your health coach is your person!
